Stars in the latest series of the "Fast and the Furious" are taking a hiatus for Thanksgiving holiday and just when the cast and crew is about to fly in Atlanta to resume shooting a tragic accident happened. Paul Walker, one of the film's leading star died at 40 after a fiery car crash that took his life and his friend Roger Rodas, Saturday, November 30.

Now the production for the big-budget film is put on hold due to the recent tragedy. Due to such tragic event, Director James Wan held a conference to discuss the future of the film now that one of its leading character can no longer fulfil his role. The question now is how can he re-work the script and proceed in a manner that would be respectful to Walker's death?

"All of us at Universal are heartbroken," said a representative of the studio in a statement Saturday night.

"Paul was truly one of the most beloved and respected members of our studio family for 14 years, and this loss is devastating to us, to everyone involved with the Fast and Furious films, and to countless fans. We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Paul's family," continued the rep.

The "Insidious" director together with the cast and crew are still in shock and saddened about the tragic news. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the "Fast and the Furious 7" will be delayed but won't be scrapped. Walker, Diesel and Dwayne Johnson have been scheduled to leave the states to travel to Abu Dhabi in January to film additional scenes.

Fast 7 was slated to hit theaters July 11 but due to the recent tragedy, fans of the series will have to wait a little longer for this much anticipated 7th instalment of the series. Walker would have reprised his role as Brian O'Connor for the film's latest series and film is trying to expedite the production in order to make it ready for the release date.

Although the studio declined to comment about the future of the "Fast 7," Walker's too fast and too furious death will post a challenge for the movie.
