"Vampire Diaries" actor Paul Wesley admitted at the EyeCon held in Atlanta, Georgia that he admires someone from the cast members of the CW spin-off series "The Originals." Fans might think it is his rumoured new girlfriend Phoebe Tonkin, Claire Holt or Leah Pipes but it turns out Mr Wesley has a man crush and it is not even Joseph Morgan, the vampire-werewolf hybrid star of the show.

So, who exactly is the actor that caught Paul Wesley's attention? It is none other than Daniel Gillies who portrays Original vampire Elijah Mikaelson. "All I really care about is if Daniel Gillies likes me or not. If I was a woman, I'd be in love with Daniel Gillies. I'm not a woman and I'm in love with Daniel Gillies. He's the perfect specimen," the 31-year-old actor revealed.

Mr Wesley further shared: "I was watching 'The Originals' the other day and he looked so good in that suit. He was really still on the screen and then you see that little twinkle in his eyes. Gillies, I'm telling ya, he's got that suit. I wish I could be as cool as Daniel Gillies."

It looks like Phoebe Tonkin will not be bothered with Paul Wesley's revelation, after all things are getting serious when it comes to her relationship with the "Vampire Diaries" star. According to the Us Weekly report, the new couple was spotted last September 21 on a heavy public display of affection at the Soho House.

"They were on a double date with Ben McKenzie and Shelley Hennig. It looked like Paul and Phoebe might have set Ben up with Shelley -- seemed like a first date," an eyewitness revealed. The anonymous source further added: "Paul and Phoebe were 100% romantic - they were across the table from Ben all cozied up on the couch kissing each other. She had her head on his chest."

Paul and Phoebe were recently spotted again together, further igniting the dating rumours, when they spent a weekend at the Atlanta's Chomp and Stomp Chili Cook-Off with Mr Wesley's sisters. The couple even shared images on the social media site Instagram.

"Oh Hai," Ms Tonkin posted as a caption to the Instagram photo shared on November 2 where she smiled with Paul's sisters. On the following day, Paul shared an image of him with Phoebe and the word "Atlanta" was the only caption.

Back in July, it has been confirmed the Paul Wesley and his wife Torrey DeVitto ended their two-year marriage with reps stating that Paul and Torrey decided to "amicably split" and continue to be good friends. Rumours started to surface that Paul Wesley is dating "The Originals" actress Phoebe Tonkin two months later after his divorce.
