“Vampire Diaries” cast member Paul Wesley’s acting and directing skills were once again put to the test in the latest season of the CW TV series. The 32-year-old actor talked about his directing experience and removing a shirtless Stefan Salvatore scene in the episodes that he worked on in an interview.

Actor Paul Wesley recounted his work experience as a director in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 5, episode 18 titled “Resident Evil” and on the upcoming “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6, episode 11 titled “Woke Up With a Monster” where he took out the shirtless scenes of his vampire character Stefan Salvatore. I actually think I took out a shirtless scene again,” Wesley shared in an Entertainment Weekly interview.

The TVD star revealed that the scene involves Stefan waking up shirtless and then walks around the Salvatore mansion. However, Paul Wesley explained that he thought the idea was ridiculous because he will be doing like nine shirtless scenes as Stefan walked around the house.

According to the CW star, he pitched that when Stefan wakes up, he will put a shirt on because that is what he would do. Paul Wesley further admitted that acting and directing for the second time in the CW TV series became more comfortable and mentally easier for him because he really trusted the process.

The actor was asked if he gave any advice to his TVD co-star Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore), who was also given the chance to direct an episode in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6. You know, not really. He didn’t really ask me for any so I didn’t offer any. [Laughs],” Wesley responded. The TVD fans will get to see Ian Somerhalder’s work in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6, episode 16 titled “The Downward Spiral.”

Meanwhile, executive producer Julie Plec teased that Paul Wesley’s character, Stefan, will be Caroline’s (Candice Accola) rock when “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6 returns with the second half episodes. Julie Plec shared in an E!Online TV Scoop report that Caroline while goes through the tough time in her life because of her mom Sheriff Forbes’ (Marguerite MacIntyre) terminall illness, Stefan will be there for the blonde vampire as her rock through the entire ordeal.

The TVD big boss further teased that the fans will see how Stefan and Caroline’s bond plays out in the upcoming episodes. “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6 returns with episode 11 titled “Woke Up With a Monster” on Thursday night, Jan. 22, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW Network.
