Actor Paul Wesley recently gave hints on the characters of his "The Vampire Diaries" co-stars Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev in the upcoming Season 6. The 31-year-old actor, who portrays Stefan Salvatore in the CW TV series, weighed in on the chances of Damon's (Ian Somerhalder) return and what will happen to Elena (Nina Dobrev) following the death of her best friend and the current love of her life.

According to the Wet Paint report, Paul Wesley made the tease on Damon and Elena in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 while appearing on HuffPost Live for the Welcome.us PSA. The actor was asked about the fate of his on-screen brother and he gladly shared what Damon's chances are when it comes to returning to Mystic Falls.

Paul Wesley pointed out that the five seasons of "The Vampire Diaries" proved that the main characters Stefan, Elena and Damon can die but there is an 80 percent chance that they could return. The actor further argued that actor Ian Somerhalder is a series regular so he has a "good likelihood" to come back.

Another important storyline in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 is what will happen to Elena after finding out that Damon did not make it from the Other Side. "Will she make it? What does make it mean? I think she'll make it. She'll be fine," Paul Wesley teased.

As for his character Stefan, Paul Wesley only revealed what he wants the Salvatore vampire to become. "Take a step back, grow some balls, man up, go chop some wood, and be a lumberjack for a while," the actor shared in the BuzzFeed report as his advice to the TVD character.

When "The Vampire Diaries" return with Season 6, the characters will go through a "substantial time jump" after the heartbreaking events that happened in the Season 5 finale particularly on Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Damon's death. Executive producer Julie Plec has revealed that the upcoming new season will be a beautiful and organic reset where the characters are given the chance to start over.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 premiere is scheduled to air on Thursday night, Oct 2, at 8 pm on the CW Network.
