Paula Abdul is said to be hosting a new TV show in Australia. Producer Anthony Chidiac said that the former "American Idol" judge has accepted $1.2 million to host the first episode of "Turn It Up TV."

"Paula Abdul will visit Australia for the very first time in the week of 16-23 September, 2013," Chidiac said in a statement obtained by the Herald Sun. He added that she will do a "possible special performance in Sydney on September 18 or 19.

"The goal for Paula to come out for the first time to Australia and do some amazing things with us is an honour, privilege, and history in itself."

The new show will be filmed at the Royal Melbourne Show Entertainment Dome in September.

Paula hasn't confirmed the producer's claims as of the time of writing. A manager at the Royal Melbourne Show was also unaware of the star's visit.

The 50-year-old former Los Angeles Lakers cheerleader doesn't seem to have anything new on her schedule. After sitting on the judges' panel on "American Idol" for eight seasons, she served as the lead judge in the CBS dancing competition "Live to Dance." However, the show was cancelled after just one season.

She was reunited with "AI" co-judge Simon Cowell on U.S. version of "The X Factor" in 2011, but she did not return for the second season of the show.

Her last stint on a reality TV talent competition show was on the All-Stars version of "Dancing with the Stars," wherein she served as a guest judge during its week four. She also performed in the show in week seven.
