Wednesday's schedule of the PBA Governors Cup will feature sizzling hot Meralco Bolts going against the skidding Global Port Batang Pier at 5:15 p.m while Talk N' Text Tropang Texters look to keep their postseason bid alive as they play league-leading Petron Blaze Boosters at 7:30 p.m.

Meralco Bolts (4-2) vs. Global Port Batang Pier (2-4) - 5:15 p.m

Buoyed by a three-game winning streak, the new and improved Meralco Bolts will attempt to continue their winning form against Global Port, which hasn't tasted a win for three consecutive games.

Meralco will be fielding in the game Best of Import of the Conference candidate Mario West and a solid All-Filipino lineup led by Cliff Hodge, Reynel Hugnatan, Mac Cardona and former top overall pick Mike Cortez. The Cardona-Cortez connection is expected to be prolific, as proven by their title way back during their collegiate basketball years in Las Salle.

On the other hand, Global Port has to find out a way to finally make things work for them. Loaded with prolific scores such as Sol Mercado, Willie Miller, Gary David and Jay Washington, the Batang Pier is in danger of missing the postseason yet again mainly because of their struggles to play as a unit.

"It doesn't matter where you wind up as long as you get to the quarterfinals," Markeith Cummings told Phil Inquirer PBA. "Every team here could be beaten, but we must get there first."

Talk N Text Texters (2-3) vs. Petron Boosters (5-1) - 7:15 p.m

In the battle against two of the most talented teams in the league, guessing the winner after the game is always tough. However, Petron looks primed to give Talk N' Text another beating after racking up five consecutive wins in row heading into Wednesday's matchup.

Import Elijiah Millsap has been nothing but prolific for the Boosters this conference as he literally dominated the play on both side of the floor. Millsap is coming off 31 points, nine rebounds and four assists in a blowout win against Barako Bulls. On Wednesday, he will be pitted against TNT import Tony Mitchell.

"We're on top, and there's a danger there. If we believe the hype and all the good things we've been hearing, it could be a cause for complacency. We don't want that," Abanilla told Phil Inquirer.

Games on Friday - September 13, 2013

Air 21 vs. Talk N Text (5:15 p.m)

PBA fans might see the return of the 'Rock' Asi Taulava on Friday as Air 21 look to keep their season alive against an equally desperate Talk N' Text team. Taulava, who bagged the league's MVP plum during his tenure with the Tropang Texters, is expected to dominate the play inside the paint despite playing into his 40s. Air 21 and Talk N Text are all gunning for a victory to avoid elimination in this single round robin elimination phase of the conference.

Alaska vs. Petron (7:15 p.m)

MVP frontrunners Calvin Abueva and Arwind Santos will face off in what could be a very physical battle. Petron has been the alpha dog of this conference as they racked up six victories in seven games while Alaska split their first six assignments to stay in the middle of the pack.
