PBA Gov's Cup Quarterfinal - San Mig Coffee and Alaska Aces will rekindle their rivalry at 7;15 p.m, but before the main duel, Meralco and Barako Bull will settle their difference at 5:15 p.m at Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

San Mig Coffee Mixers vs. Alaska Aces

The red-hot San Mig Coffee Mixers has been unbeaten in their last five games, and now, they have a chance to book a semis ticket when they take on rival Alaska Aces in the main event of Wednesday's quarterfinal double-header.

San Mig import Marcus Blakely has been immense throughout the tourney, filling up the boxscores sheet every single game. However, in order for the Mixers to be successful, they need their locals to step up. James Yap, Peter June Simon and the rest of the star-studded lineup is expected to bring their A-game against Coach Tim Cone's former team.

On the other hand, Alaska will try to end their losing skid that suddenly relegated them in the bottom four. With their backs against the wall, Calvin Abueva and import Wendell McKines are up to lead the charge for Alaska, who needs to win twice against San Mig for them to move into the semifinal.

"If there is a time to meet San Mig, it is now. They will be harder to match up against down the road in a best-of-seven," Trillo told Philippine Inquirer.

"In my opinion, they have the deepest lineup on paper. Last year in this same conference, they ended up first at the end of the elimination. (Marcus) Blakely is a big thorn for any team. He gets away with what he pleases in the game," Trillo also said.

Meralco Bolts vs. Barako Bull Energy Drink

After a solid elimination round, Meralco Bolts have now set their sight at the ultimate prize. Mac Cardona, Cliff Hodge and import Mario West are expected to go all out against the up-and-coming Barako Bull, who started the conference hot only to foil in the latter stages of the elimination round.

Barako import Michael Singletary will once again try to carry his team to postseason success, but a productive outing from Eman Monfort and Danny Siegel will certainly help their cause.
