Air 21 and Meralco have reportedly agreed on a trade that will have Asi Taulava finally returning in the PBA for Express while Mike Cortez assuming the starting point guard role for the Bolts, a source close to situation reported on Friday evening.

According to Spin.ph writer Snow Badua, the blockbuster trade is expected to trigger more transaction in the coming days with San Miguel Corp ball clubs Petron and Ginebra set to be involved.

Legit All-Stars and solid veterans such as Mac Cardona, Kerby Raymondo, Joseph Yeo, Nerbert Omolon, and James Sena are likely to switch jerseys when negotiations pushe through.

Aside from the 6-foot-9 Taulava, Air 21 will also receive point guard Chris Ross while Meralco will get still recovering power forward Rob Reyes (ACL surgery) in the trade.

The 40-year old Taulava will finally give the Express a reliable post-up player and tenacious defender on the shaded lane. The veteran big man is coming off an MVP season with eventual champion San Miguel Beerman, racking up double digits numbers in point and rebound in the Asean Basketball League.

On the other hand, the streaking Bolts will have a savvy veteran point guard in Cortez, who has good production for Air 21 this season. PBA Commisioner Chito Saud is expected to approve the deal on Friday.
