‘Penny Dreadful’ Season 2 Spoilers: First Teaser Hints A Clue, ‘A Curse And A Blessing’ [VIDEO]
After a satisfying ending for Season 1, "Penny Dreadful" Season 2 returns to Showtime with 10 more episodes and with a new teaser for the pilot episode, "A Cure and a Blessing" tease. Scheduled to premiere in 2015, the 44-second short teaser is "appropriately eerie and very cryptic" as it features Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) talking about curse that she come to believe as a blessing.
"The (extremely brief) teaser focuses on Eva Green's Vanessa Ives as she addresses someone about a curse that she's come to see as a blessing-almost certainly referring to the demon that was revealed to be still inside her in the very last moments of the season one finale- while cutting to the briefest of glimpses at the show's cast," according to Entertainment Weekly.
Now that Vanessa is seeing her satanic possession as a blessing, the new season is going to have a new twist with a "seasonal villain" focusing on Madame Kali's (Helen McCory) medium. This new villain is reportedly to become dangerous as it gets fixated on Vanessa.
Season 1 ended with Vanessa learning about the demon inside her as she was presented with an option to exorcise it. But based on the new teaser, she chose to play with it and use it to her advantage. Fans of the show are still in dark and were left with so many questions as to Ethan Chandler's (Josh Harnett) werewolfside, Dorian Grey's (Reeve Carney) weird relationship with everybody and the bride for Frankenstein's monster.
Series creator revealed recently that the "theology" of the show is going to get bigger for season two with a more threatening supernatural world. He also admits during his interview at Comic-Con that Season 1 is about bringing all the characters as a family, while "Penny Dreadful" Season 2 is about "building on those relationships in different patterns."
Still no date for its premiere in 2015, the John Logan's hit horror series is going to explore more on Ethan's backstory and his troubled relationship with his father. The highly anticipated season will also lead the characters into Dracula's origin, so fans of the show have to stick around for "Penny Dreadful" Season 2.
