People's Choice Awards: Britney Spears Works the Lacey Dress, Brings Along Boyfriend David Lucado

Britney Spears is making waves this 2014, and she starts it off at the People's Choice Awards.

First, she wows everyone in her red-carpet appearance, wearing a nude cocktail dress with black and silver lace detail. Fashion authorities commend how the dress by Mikael D. was soft and sexy at the same time, and fits her figure perfectly.

E! Online says that the signature Britney look is definitely back, because '(t)he blonde locks have reappeared, her body is in dance-your-heart-out shape and that fake-baked skin is long gone!'

Then she brings along her boyfriend, lawyer David Lucato, to the event. Not only did she proudly introduce her main squeeze to the press during their red carpet appearance, a source tells E! Online that the pair is going stronger than ever.

'They are totally in love and they make a good pair,' says the source. 'He's from a small town and she is very sheltered. It's a good mix.'

David even went as far as leaving Virginia behind and joined Britney in Las Vegas to practice law there, while the latter had her series of shows. The two met at a party where Britney's friends introduced her to David. She tells Ellen DeGeneres that their attraction was 'instant' and she loves how he is passionate, funny and sexy at the same time.

And finally, she grabs her very first People's Choice Award, as she was voted for Favorite Pop Artist, besting out the other nominees including her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake (who did not feel bad anyway because he won three awards that same night).

Britney admits she did not expect getting the award, but she thanked everyone who supported her anyway.

'I want to thank my family -- my beautiful family -- my boys at home, my management team and all of my fans. I love you dearly. Thank you!' said Britney in her acceptance speech.
