Just recently the boys of "Perks of Being a Wallflower" hit OUT magazine with a few drool-worthy poses. By the looks of it, the boys are still not done spreading their magic because now they've managed to hit the pages of the iconic VMAN Magazine. Johnny Simmons, Ezra Miller and Logan Lerman even manage to share their personal thoughts on Chobsky's film plus everything "Perks."
"I enjoy writing and music like Charlie does, but honestly I don't feel that we're very similar. That's actually what made this role so interesting for me. I'm definitely not as introverted or neurotic as Charlie! He is very naïve. I don't think I was like that at that age," explains Lerman when asked how he relates to Charlie, the main protagonist of the book and film.
The book having been set in the early 90's not only had an impact on the casts' fashion sense but in their mind set as well. Logan Lerman and Ezra Miller share their thoughts on getting in on the 90's mind set.
"Other than having to use a tape deck during filming, I don't feel as if I necessarily had to change my mind-set. with the '90s having been portrayed in the media so much anyway, I guess I already had a familiarity with the time period. Youth culture will always be youth culture, but it's definitely different with the Internet, social media, and everyone being constantly connected," says Lerman.
"I was born the year this film takes place, so I very much grew up feeling the strange weight of this particular time for American kids, and there are some helpful consistencies in the last 20 years for sure. Culture has been sick and corrupted and kids have angstfully learned to deal with it for a very long time," says Ezra Miller, on the other hand.
The film is set for a September 21 release which has already got fans of the book and the cast in hype. For now, fans of Lerman and the cast best be content with photos of the amazing cast on VMAN Magazine.
