‘Person Of Interest' Season 4 Recap: Episode 2 'Nautilus' Aired On Sept. 30, 2014, A Cryptographic Puzzle And Scavenger Hunt Makes Finch Rethink His Earlier Decision About Not Fighting Against Samaritan Anymore [WATCH VIDEOS]

"Person of Interest" starring Jim Caviezel as John Reese and Michael Emerson as Harold Finch, aired the episode titled "Nautilus" (Season 4, episode 2) on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014. It was about a thrilling, but deadly scavenger hunt which pulled Finch in. Read on for the "Person of Interest" Season 4 recap of episode 2 "Nautilus" to find out what happened to Finch and company.

"Person of Interest" Season 4, episode 2 "Nautilus" was written by Dan Dietz and Melissa Scrivner-Love. It was directed by Chris Fisher. Here's what happened in "Nautilus." Finch's interest got piqued with the new person of interest, or POI and a mysterious scavenger hunt. This POI happens to be a promising college student named Claire Mahoney (Quinn Shephard). She is a brilliant mathematician.

The scavenger hunt consisted of solving cryptographic puzzles that have a common theme - the Nautilus. It is not just a game, but a tool used to locate and recruit people who are gifted. Unfortunately, Claire was also involved in stealing some files for the game. That's why Silverpool, a military firm, went after her.

Not only is Finch intrigued by all of this, but he also wanted to find out who was behind it. Finch snooped on some video footage to find out who put up one of the posters that had the clues to the scavenger hunt. He was led to a coffee shop and a barista who told him that he just received instruction from his email on when and where to post the clue. After that, he was wired $1,000 in his account. However, he said that he couldn't tell Finch who told him what to do because it was done anonymously.

Eventually, Finch discovered that Samaritan runs the Nautilus puzzle. But, Claire refused to believe him and went ahead with finishing the game. She was turned into an "Asset" by Samaritan and Silverpool was exposed to be a threat. Afterwards, it was shown that Finch wanted to be back in the numbers game with Reese and Sameen Shaw (Sarah Shahi) to fight once more against Samaritan.
