One of the biggest stars in the hip hop music industry, Kanye West, is now being called 'Kanye East' due to being dropped from two locations for the Big Day Out: Perth and Adelaide.

However, the producers of one of the biggest music festivals in the world, said that the rest of the show will go on after having discussions that the two locations will be dropped altogether.

"The choice of pulling the whole show was talked about in a meeting, especially when it came down to Adelaide and Perth," said Ken West, the organizer of Big Day Out.

When it was announced on Twitter that Kanye West was removed from the Big Day Out line up, it was also announced that the Perth venue will be changed to a smaller location in Brownes Stadium in Lathlain. Some restrictions and issues such as noise level limitations in other locations have made organizers think of another venue instead of the original Claremont Showgrounds in Perth.

Organizers also thought that dropping Kanye West from the line up would mean that there would be room for another much awaited band Soundgarden at an earlier 6pm slot, or else, "there will be no show in Adelaide or Perth".

It was not only Kanye West who was kicked out from the line up. Australian hip hop artist Hilltop Hoods was also removed from the list of performers in both Adelaide and Perth. The Living End and Mariachi El Bronx were taken off the Adelaide show's list of performers.

Kanye West was not too happy with compensation for the inconvenience in the form of a full refund, a merchandising discount, or an exchange for an east show, but he said he is trying to look into having another gig instead.

"I am trying to come up with new ideas for it. If I do not please the crowd, then it may be big damage to Big Day Out. I understand the concept of the music festival so I will do my best, even give 110 percent," said the hip hop star despite not feeling too well about the outcome of the line up for the Big Day Out.
