A significant number of companies have signed up for office spaces in Perth's central business district (CBD).

A total area of 20,000 square meters have been given away for lease in the past few weeks. Auditing and professional services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers International Limited (PwC) secured about 8000 square meters in the Alluvion building.

The building is located at 58 Mounts Bay Road. Perth-based property company Cape Bouvard and Colonial First State's Commonwealth Office Property Fund owns the 45-storey structure.

PwC will be having BHP Billiton Limited nearby as the mining giant has also secured about 2000 square meters in the same building. At present, PwC holds offices at the QV.1 office tower found at the west end of the CBD.

The latest tenant in Perth is international oil company ENI. The oil firm was reported to have signed up for about 4500 square meters of office space in the 226 Adelaide Terrace building.

Perth's CBD has approximately 1.3 million square meters of office space in its most prominent street of Saint George Terrace. The district also has Central Park, Australia's seventh tallest building.

Commercial and residential projects are due for completion in the CBD. One of the major projects would be the 244 meter office building for BHP Billiton.
