Pete Doherty Skips Gig, Ends Up in Rehab
Pete Doherty, the popular musician who is also popularly known for his drug habits has cancelled his festival gigs and would instead go for rehabilitation.
Pete Doherty was supposed to perform at T in the Park in Kinross, but before a week after his planned appearance, the singer dropped from the said event. An explanation provided in his website states that the singer has checked into a rehab center in Thailand. More details were mentioned in his website stating that: "Doherty flew to the Cabin, in Chiang Mai, Thailand escorted by his manager Andy Boyd. Doherty's stay at the Cabin will see him undergo a rigorous treatment program designed to lead to recovery once and for all."
Pete Doherty is known for his long struggle with substance abuse particularly with heroin and crack coccaine. He already underwent a lot of rehabilitation for the past years but all has been unsuccesful as he still goes back to his habit. There were previous reports saying that Doherty was getting better but this news about his latest rehab stint contradicts this report.
Many people are hoping that his latest rehab would be succesful. According to sources, his latest rehab program would include a "tailored execrcise program" which includes yoga and elephant trekking. Dohert would also undergo a "secularized" version of Narcotics Anonymous's 12 Step method as well as workshops in mindfulness and mind mapping.
Due to his latest rehab treatment, Doherty has been forced his future appearances including the Super Bock Super Rock festival in Portugal and Rock for People in the Czech Republic.
