Miss World, the oldest and biggest beauty contest, could happen in the Philippines in 2015, a source disclosed recently.

Following Megan Young's crowning as the new Miss World title-holder, the Peoples Journal reported National Director of Miss World Philippines Cory Quirino is now doing the initial steps to convince the head of Miss World UK to give the hosting rights of the pageant's 2015 edition to the Philippines.

"Miss World is the biggest [international beauty pageant], with over 130 candidates," Quirino said in her past interview with Philippines Inquirer.

Since she assumed the position as the head of Miss World Philippines, the country produced three great results in the beauty contest. Gwendoline Ruais finished runner-up in 2011, Queenierich Rehman made it in the top-15, while Young captured the country's first ever victory in Miss World.

Quirino admitted he really had a strong feeling Young would become the country's first ever Miss World since she won the Miss World Philippines.

"They all said the same thing, 'we see something in Megan, we believe she's going to win the crown,'" Quirino said in an interview on "Mornings@ANC" on Friday.

"At least three to five countries approached me and said, 'your girl, she's special. This time, Philippines might win that crown,'" she said. "So I arrived ten days before the pageant already feeling upbeat about the prospects of bringing home the crown," she added.

Life coach George Sison also believed that a previously overlooked Young would become the country's shinning glory in the pageant.

"I found her articulate, sweet, confident, positive and receptive, and, yes, well-bred. I had to know her, where she grew up and how she grew up. Also, I needed to know her date of birth (Feb. 27, 1990) what time she was born, and where (Alexandria, Virginia, USA)," Sison said in an article on Philippines Star.

As for Quirino, her mission doesn't end with Young's triumph. She's now looking at a bigger picture, one that could put Philippines in the Miss World history books forever.

"And I also had a strong feeling about her when she won Miss World Philippines, because she swept all the awards and I'm saying, 'okay, she's already the anointed one (laughs), she's the one,'" added Quirino, whose next mission is to bring Miss World for the first time in the Philippines, probably in 2015.
