Physio Stéphane Vivier Leaves Roger Federer To Join Grigor Dimitrov’s Team
Roger Federer has parted ways with his physio Stephen Vivier. The 17-time Grand Slam champion made the announcement on his official website.
"After five great years, Stéphane Vivier and I have decided to stop working together," Federer wrote. According to Federer, Vivier was a great member of his team. Even though they will no longer work together professional, they will maintain a close friendship.
"I wish him all the best in the future," Federer further said.
Vivier has started working for rising Bulgarian star Grigor Dimitrov as seen on a tweet by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) on Sept. 30 among other tweets on the development. ATP's official Twitter account shared of snap of Dimitrov with his Australian coach Roger Rasheed and Vivier. Former professional tennis player from Australia Darren Cahill also shared the same picture on the popular networking website.

According to Tennis Talk, Federer hired Vivier in 2009. Vivier was one of seven physios of ATP for some time. Federer employed Vivier for full time so that the latter can travel with him and keep him fit and in good shape.
Federer had a good run in the current season although he missed out on a majors title. He is 56-10 and has won three titles in Dubai, Germany, and Cincinnati. He has won a total of $5,560,154 prize money. Federer last competed in the 2014 US Open where he lost to Croatia's Martin Cilic, 3-6, 6-4, 4-6 in the semifinals.
Federer has played for his home turf in the Davis Cup. As posted on his website, Federer's next tournament will be the 2014 Shanghai Rolex Masters, which will run from Oct. 6 to Oct. 12. He is also slated to take part in the Swiss Indoors from Oct. 18 to Oct. 26. Next up for the third-ranked Swiss athlete is the BNP Paribas Masters (Oct. 27 to Nov. 2) and the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London (Nov. 10 to Nov. 16).
