Pippa Middleton's wedding good deed: Socialite extends olive branch to distanced uncle, Gary Goldsmith
With Pippa Middleton’s wedding taking shape week by week, the socialite seems to have also taken the opportunity to make amends within her family. The 33-year-old, who is engaged to James Matthews, has requested Tallulah -- the daughter of her estranged uncle, Gary Goldsmith -- to a bridesmaid.

As Mail Online has reported, Pippa has asked Tallulah to be part of her wedding party. “Pippa called [Gary] about two weeks ago and they had a very friendly conversation,” a source told the publication. “Gary knows he's on shaky ground so he's desperate not to put a foot wrong by spilling the beans. All he will say for now is that he's hopeful that Tallulah will be walking down the aisle behind her cousin as a bridesmaid. Tallulah is thrilled at the prospect.”
Tallulah is 14 years old and is currently attending a private school in the South of England. The publication goes on to say that should Tallulah be a bridesmaid at Pippa’s wedding, that she will be tasked to keep a close eye on Prince George, who is expected to be a page boy.
The rift between the Middletons and the Goldsmiths began in 2009 when Gary was caught cutting cocaine and boasting about his royal connections. In addition to this, Carole Middleton was reportedly frustrated at her younger brother for revealing details about his conversation with the Duchess of Cornwall during Kate Middleton’s wedding in 2011. And while Gary was in attendance, he was kept out of all family photo.
The distance between both families has been evident in recent years, as Gary did not make it to Carole’s 60th birthday celebration. Likewise, Carole did not attend Gary’s 50th. Because of the riff, Gary and Tallulah are expected to be on their best behaviour during Pippa’s wedding, which is rumoured to be questioned for May 2017.
