'Pirates of the Caribbean' Johnny Depp costume highlight of Heritage Museums & Gardens exhibit
Johnny Depp’s costume from “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies is on display at the Heritage Museums & Gardens exhibit. The actor plays the role of the infamous pirate Captain Jack Sparrow in the movie franchise and will be reprising his role in the fifth instalment, which is currently in post production.
The costume on display is a replica of the one Depp wore in the 2003 movie of the franchise, which was the very first movie of the actor playing the role of Jack Sparrow. Depp created the look of the pirate captain in collaboration with costume designer Penny Rose and hair stylist Martin Samuel, Boston Globe reports.
The 1700s costume comes with a long frock coat and boots with deep cuffs. The costume has been made to emphasise the life of a pirate.
“We learned that Johnny Depp was inspired a lot by rocker Keith Richards in creating his look for Jack Sparrow,” said Ellen Spear president and CEO of Heritage Museums and Gardens. “He braided things in his hair to remind him of the escapes he’d been involved in. It’s a great way to think of the character, sort of the ultimate bad boy.”
Jack Sparrow will take on a powerful new enemy in “Pirates of the Caribbean 5.” Javier Bardem will play the role of Captain Salazar, who escapes from the Devil’s Triangle and is determined to kill every pirate at sea.
Meanwhile, a new report suggests that Depp is planning to leave Los Angeles and is searching for a new home in Europe, Manchester Evening News reports. The actor is reportedly considering moving to Manchester to live in a place “full of real, genuine people.” The actor is apparently “tired” of his L.A. lifestyle.
Depp’s next big movie “Pirates of the Caribbean 5” is slated to be released on May, 26 2017 in Australia. The main plot of the movie revolves around Jack Sparrow going in search of the Trident of Poseidon, which gives its wielder power over the sea.
