When entertainment news feature stars sporting a pixie hairstyle nearly every week, women starts to take notice.

According to Yahoo Search Data, searches for the phrase 'pixie hairstyle' went up to 511 times higher compared to the same time last year.

Yahoo Search Data tweets on November 14, "It seems like a woman in #Hollywood gets a pixie cut everyday! This month on @Yahoo, searches for [pixie haircut] are spiking off the charts."

It also appears that women are looking for pixie styles that would suit their hair type or preference, as Yahoo tweets further, "@Yahoo users have been searching for various styles of #pixiecuts this month, including [long pixie haircut] & [curly pixie haircuts]"

The site also listed down the top three searched celebrities with pixie hairstyles, which includes Jennifer Aniston, Pamela Anderson and most recently, Jennifer Lawrence.

Early this month, the 'Hunger Games' shocked fans worldwide when she dyed her hair back to blonde and cut it off to a pixie hairstyle, similar to that of Emma Watson.

Lawrence tells Yahoo, "I don't know, I cut it earlier, and it was just kind of like [shoulder-length] and it grew to that awkward, gross length, and I just kept putting it back in a bun, and I said, 'Well I don't want to do this,' so I just cut it off."

She laments further on her shoulder-length hair during her magazine shoot with InStyle magazine, saying that it was in an 'awkward length and color.'

Prior to Lawrence, Pamela Anderson also had her signature long blonde hair cut into a much shorter hairstyle, the first time she did so in 20 years. She tells Ellen deGeneres the reason why she did that was partly due to the New York Marathon where she ran a few weeks ago.

"I just thought my hair had had a life and I kind of wanted to put that behind me and start fresh," the 'Baywatch' star says. "And I also thought it would be good for the marathon."

Jennifer Aniston also sported a shorter hairstyle, though less of a traditional pixie and more of a long one, almost similar to the hairstyle she popularized during her stint in the sitcom 'Friends.'

But she tells Elle UK that she was forced to chop her long locks due to a hair treatment called Brazilian blowout.

"I think the treatment on its own is generally effective, but you have to make sure the condition of the hair is right for it," she also tells The Daily Mail.

The said statements re-ignited the debate on the hair treatment which became controversial due to the chemicals being used.

Aside from Lawrence and Anderson, other celebrities also rode the pixie bandwagon, including Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson and Coco Rocha.
