'Planet Of The Apes 3' Spoilers: Caesar To Become An 'Ape Moses,' Andy Serkis To Continue As Leader Of The Apes
"Planet of the Apes 3" will showcase Caesar's evolution and how he will continue being a leader of the apes. The film's director Matt Reeves, who is currently promoting the Blu-ray and DVD release of "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," says that Caesar will become a "seminal figure" in the world of apes, someone who will become like Moses.
In "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," Caesar was shown building his own community of apes in Muir Woods and killing Koba. The film concluded with humans preparing for a war against apes, with Caesar and Malcom grieving over the lost opportunity of peace. Just before the end credits, Caesar was shown standing before a huge group of apes, waiting for the impending battle.
[Warning: Potential spoilers ahead]
It is speculated that the third film in the sci-fi franchise would feature a major confrontation between humans and apes. Moreover, Caesar would gain a mythical status and would fight for his community. The storyline of the film is not yet confirmed. "We're trying to play out those themes and continue to sort of explore it in this universe. Exploring human nature under the guise of apes," Reeves reveals about the film to ComingSoon.net.
Meanwhile, "Dawn of the Planets of Apes" has passed $700 million at the worldwide box office. The main lead of the film, Andy Serkis, would continue to play as Caesar in the third instalment of the film series. According to Reeves, Serkis' take on his character is of vital importance as he looks at it from a perspective of an outsider, who has been thrown in the group of apes. Reeves adds that Serkis' character is unique in that Caesar has a connection between both humans and apes.
Moreover, buzz has it that Serkis may get an Oscar nomination for playing Caesar in "Dawn of the Planet of Apes." The movie is available to stream in HD today, and its Blu-ray/DVD would release on Dec. 2. The script of "Planet of the Apes 3" is currently being penned down. It is expected to come to theatres on July 29, 2016.
