For those who have tried the easy hack in order to get and play Plants vs. Zombies 2 at the same time as Australia and New Zealand, the first thing you would realize is that the cheats are mainly the in-app buys--from power-ups to new plants, it's basically a game that forces you to buy stuff to get ahead of the game.

However, a look online reveals that there are some who have found a way to apply hacks without necessarily shelling out a single coin, which is fun for those who don't want to.

One hack comes from the forums of SinfuliPhone, which reveals a hack from Cydia called Cydia repo of iModGame Service. According to the post, the hack can be used for any iOS device, including the iPhone, iPod touch, and the iPad.

When you download the iModGame, the hack states that you can get free iAP, infinite coins, infinite plant food (which you can buy from the unlimited number of coins), and infinite number of sun (which springs from when you provide infinite number of plant food to your sunflowers).

To download the hack you just have to follow five steps:

  1. Go to Cydia, then click on Manage, and Sources. You then have to click on Edit and add the source as linked in http://www.sinfuliphone.com/showthread.php?p=1005542.
  2. Download the iModGame and respring your device.
  3. Click on iModGame, but you will not see Mod Points as of yet. Go to My Account at the top right corner of the screen, and, using your Gmail account, tap on Register then Log In.
  4. Click on the Link Device, then click Thanks INVITER, before typing in 276815 for 50 Point Free.
  5. Choose the Plants vs. Zombies 2 Hack and turn on the hack. The source credits ༏ɴsʌɴεʟʏ༏ and Nadis Lai for the hack.

The catch here is that the sources states that you will need to get another 50 points, as the hack requires 100 points to activate. The step where you put in Thanks Inviter is the key to crediting or thanking the person who provided you with the hack.

You just need to find someone else who is willing to exchange you with 50 more points so you can work your way through Plants vs. Zombies 2.

Plants vs. Zombies 2 Cheats on app?

As though hacks weren't enough, a Game Plant vs. Zombies 2 Cheats has also appeared in Google Play, claiming that it is the "LEAKED version of Plants vs. Zombies 2 for Android."

The supposed app is seen on AppBrain, where, according to the description, you will be able to do all the tower-defense action in the three worlds seen for the sequel of PopCap's hit game--on the Android.

So far, PopCap has not yet introduced any Android ports for the game. In fact, the iOS version is still yet to see a worldwide release as it is now still on the beta testing in Australia and New Zealand.

This app may actually be one of the previously reported fake apps that may be lurking online and taking on the hype of the much-anticipated game. Stay tuned for any updates on PopCap's Plants vs. Zombies 2 for any news on possible release dates.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare: All the seeds and plants

Plants vs. Zombies 2 is the only anticipated game that PopCap continues to hang over the heads of casual and hardcore gamers alike, but not much has been said of the other game looming for release early 2014.

First debuting at the E3 2013 with a very playful trailer and even more playful names--Grass Effect, Petal of Honor--Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare has been well-received as a surprise game that many were not expecting.

This surprise game has already been thought out by its developers before even delivering the surprise teaser last June. Brisbane Times reports that there will be four playable characters, namely the pea shooter, the sunflower, the chomper, and the cactus. What's different with the original tower-defense game is that you can choose to give the plants mobility or increased power by putting them in pots, but you can't have both.

They can also spawn helper plants to create original Plants vs. Zombies characters, which players can collect and deploy depending on their strategy.

The magic, and originality, happens when you can go in single-player mode instead of the god-like power of deploying your plant soldiers, so that you can shoot at zombies on your own while going from plant-to-plant.

This strengthens the claim that Garden Warfare is not there to capitalize on the sequel's craze, but rather build on what IGN reports to be a connection between the two games, as can be seen in the cameo appearances of some new plants, like the Bonk Choy in the part-shooter, part-tower defense game.

"Some of the units that you see in Garden Warfare, some of the plants and zombies, are actually from Plants vs. Zombies 2. Characters, maybe settings, they'll share. But from there, they'll start to branch in potentially different directions," said Frank Gibeau, EA Labels president, in an interview with IGN.

"We're going to continue to support [mobile device] with more episodes and more features and more content. We think striking the right balance with mobile game, and then also experimenting on the console with a different experience later this year."

So not only does the world have to wait for Plants vs. Zombies 2 to play the much-reported new maps, levels, and plants, but also this modern-day shooter that gives the franchise a whole new level of wow.
