The sequel to Electronic Arts’ successful plant shooter title has enjoyed a lot of feedback and good reception following its launch. Now, the developer has finally started announced its first post-launch expansion pack for “Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2,” which is already out and available.

It seems that the developer had been listening to the feedback from fans, as the free update brings not only new features, but also some balancing and tuning of the game, albeit from community feedback. Incoming for the new Garden Variety Pack is the Aqua Center map, which requires co-op and team play. The only hint that the developer gave was that it may seem familiar, but is actually a completely different map from what “Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2” may be familiar with.

Electronic Arts announced via the official “Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2” website that there will also be new missions for Backyard Battleground, namely Hide n’ Find and Bot & Pot. The Turf Takeover Playlist will also be getting a night version of the Great White North map.

Some new settings that have been included with the free update adds new character variant images for the group HUD, the full list of friends playing the game in the World Options, an Aim Sensitivity slider for better and more precise control and the common chat for Game Now default when in Private Matches.

The update also introduced a couple of fixes for the game. These include a lower timer count between rounds when in Multiplayer matches. Imps have the proper XP when in Mech. Players can now see both Backyard customisations and stats for other players.

The developer also mentioned some major improvements done for flinching animations when hit. Finally, bug fixes have also been introduced, though not entirely specified. Some plants and zombies also received particular balances, detailed in the link above. The likes of Cactus and Corn received buffs for damage and health, while zombies like Imp and Captain Deadbeard had their survivability and damage increased for better chances.

Just recently, Xbox One gamers were able to get “Plants vs. Zombies” by way of EA Access. The service added the original title as a backward compatible games. According to Co-Optimus, this may signal how some backward compatible games are now making their way into Electronic Access.
