Play Nintendo Tour 2016 goes around the U.S. in summer with free-play Nintendo 3DS games, won’t bring Nintendo NX titles
Nintendo has released its lineup for the Play Nintendo Tour 2016. Set to come to different U.S. regions this summer, fans can get their hands on some Nintendo 3DS XL and Nintendo 2DS games.
Over at the official Play Nintendo website, the company has revealed 12 U.S. areas, included in the stopovers. Each Play Nintendo 2016 tour will last three to four days per area. It will start on June 17 in Los Angeles, California and will end on Sept. 5 in Alpharetta, Georgia. It will also land in San Diego California from July 21 to 24, in time for the San Diego Comic-Con.
Some of the games that fans can sample include “Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D,” “Yoshi’s New Island,” “New Super Mario Bros. 2,” “Kirby: Planet Robobot,” “Yo-Kai Watch,” “Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire” and “Mario Kart 7.”
According to My Nintendo News, there are other activities besides playing the featured games. As a free tour it will feature prizes on-site and photo opportunities, meant especially for kids. Though for sure, adult fans will also flock to take pictures with their favourite Nintendo characters. There will be an oversized Yoshi egg, a Kirby figure, a blue Spiny Shell in the Mario Kart 7 or even beside a giant Pokeball.
Other activities that kids can participate in include creating a “Super Mario Maker” wallpaper and answering Pokemon quizzes.
While most of the games are already well-known Nintendo titles, a new one “Kirby: Planet Robobot” will be debuting on June 10. This means fans can sample the game before deciding whether to buy the game.
Sadly, the lineup does not include any Nintendo NX titles. This is understandable, since the upcoming device will not even make it to Nintendo’s booth at E3 2016. The gaming event itself will feature a lot of “The Legend of Zelda” happenings, though from the looks of it, there will be other games feature at the booth, though not playable.
