Playboy founder Hugh Hefner on Tuesday launched a new website featuring his nude playmates in an attempt to make it "safe for work".

The website, TheSmokingJakcet.com, took its name from the leisure apparel favored by Hefner around the Playboy Mansion.

According to publisher Playboy Enterprises, the site is a "men's entertainment destination that provides guys with smart and sexy distractions throughout the day."

"The smoking jacket isn't just something I like to wear around the mansion," Hefner said in a brief video introducing the site.

"It's Playboy's new safe-for-work website.

"Next to the mansion it's the best hangout on the planet."

The website does not contain nudity but it definitely has bikini-clad women and includes photos from the Playboy archives.

"Cube dwellers and office drones alike shall rejoice at this fun, sexy, satirical antidote to the drudgery of the work day," said Playboy's editorial director Jimmy Jellinek in a statement.

Video clips and articles on several categories - Girls, Entertainment, Sex, Videos and Lifestyle - are featured on the website and is aimed at attracting a younger crowd.

Playboy Enterprises said that Web surfers can always turn to Playboy.com, which has over six million unique visitors every month, should they want nudity.
