PlayStation News: 2 New PS4 Titles, a Curious PS Network-exclusive Game & Guacamelee for April
PS4 is moving smoothly with its PS4 titles as two new ones are confirmed from Lukewarm Media and Zombie Studios. A new PlayStation Network-exclusive from Japan Studios is also progressing from last year's ultra tease.
And Guacamelee!, the side-scrolling game is also coming out this April for the PS3 and PS Vita.
PS4 Titles Confirmed: Blacklight: Retribution and Primal Carnage: Genesis
Sony is now tapping indie developers for titles for its upcoming PS4, as two more titles were confirmed for the console.
EndGadget reports that Zombie Studios' Blacklight: Retribution is a free-to-play shooter game that will be the first game in Sony's Pub Fund.
Other indie developer Lukewarm Media is churning out Primal Carnage: Genesis, which brings dinosaurs and a single-player adventure to the table.
GameSpot also reports that Primal Carnage: Genesis will make use of the Unreal Engine 4, and run on an episodic narrative.
"It was a difficult decision for us, given the relative newness of episodic storytelling," said Ashton Anderson, game director for Primal, to GameSpot. "Ultimately, the episodic method ended up being the clear victor due to the versatile nature of creating a story episode by episode.'
PlayStation Network teases stealth game Rain
While most games feature gun-totin' characters or slashing sword fights, and even strategy games require some sort of aggressive action on the offensive.
However, Sony Japan Studio is bringing an interesting spin to defensive, no-attack stealth and strategy to its newest game Rain.
EuroGamer reports that Rain, which was first revealed as a title last year in Gamescom, lets gamers take on the persona of an invisible boy who can only be revealed by the rain. He finds himself in an unusual world with the sole purpose of rescuing a girl.
The adventure is purely strategy and stealth, and even if you face monsters and elements, so you can only avoid the attacks or get killed. The key here is maximizing the use of visibility and stealth, with the sole purpose of putting mystery and wonder in the front seat.
"Please remember how you felt when you got lost when you were a child. You were all alone and anxious and scared to tears, but at the same time, you felt something else," said director Yuki Ikeda of Acquire to EuroGamer.
"Rain is trying to evoke the exact same feelings of fear and curiosity of exploring an unfamiliar world."
Guacamelee! out for April
The side-scroller game that features Mexican wrestling and stunning visual art, Guacamelee!, is slated for release this April 9 in North America, to be released at $14.99.
According to Joystiq, you'll be shifting dimensions and punching chickens into two worlds. However, the game is exclusive only for the PS Vita and PS3.
Europe players can enjoy the Cross-Buy support game on April 10.
