PlayStation Plus Free weekend online play starts Friday, members get ‘Kill Strain’ early access and free PS4 theme
PS4 fans who want to sample what the PlayStation Plus online multiplayer is all about can check out the weekend offer starting this Friday. For the entire weekend, the PS4 online multiplayer is free for all.
The open multiplayer weekend, teased in the video below, will go on from June 24 to 27. This means that the multiplayer modes of the PS4 games can be accessed and enjoyed. Players in Australia will be able to access the free weekend multiplayer from 7:00 p.m. on Friday to 7:00 p.m. on June 27, Monday local time.
“There’s more to PlayStation Plus than online multiplayer—if you’re not a member yet, find out about all the other great features such as 24 games a year at no extra cost, exclusive discounts, 10 GB cloud storage and more,” according to PlayStation Blog.
For PlayStation Plus members, “Kill Strain” will be available starting July 12 as an early access. This is an entire week earlier than the access for regular PS4 owners which is set for July 19. Since it is a free-to-play title, players can immediately dive in once the game is live
Invites are going out weekly, as “Kill Strain” is still in limited access. According to the PlayStation Blog, invites to the Limited Access will be given away from June 29 to July 3. Signups are open for the beta.
If players need more incentives to get into the limited access, developer San Diego Studio is letting users who get up to Level 20 before July 4 have a beta exclusive in-game item, the Vanguard Vincent.
Another thing that PS Plus subscribers in North America is a free “Tron” PS4 dynamic theme. DualShockers reported that the theme will be a project from Truant Pixel, complete with custom animations, music and sound effects, which is all good for a free theme. There’s no announcement of the theme being available for European territories as of the moment.
