PM Tony Abbott’s Political Adviser Who Worsened Indonesia-Australia Ties With Tweet Quits Twitter
Mark Textor, the political adviser of Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott, who has worsened the already bad ties between Australia and Indonesia due to his tweets, had quit Twitter.
He has critical of Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono for communicating with a neighbouring government via Twitter and compared an Indonesian official to a 1970s Filipino porn star has earned him the ire of Mr Abbott and even got him death threats.

His mistaken description of an Indonesian official, apparently referring to Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa, was a reaction to the latter's asking Mr Abbott to apologise for Canberra's espionage activities in Indonesia, particularly wiretaps on the mobile phones of Mr Yudhoyono, his wife and several cabinet members.
However, Mr Textor was actually referring to George Estregan, the brother of former Philippine President Joseph Estrada, who became a porn star in the 1980s, but the look-alike of Mr Natalegawa was Mr Estregan's son and namesake, George Estregan Jr.
Mr Abbott has described Mr Textor's tweets as tacky. Mr Textor claimed he quit Twitter under the handle AMarkATextor because of too many death threats he got.
Besides being a political strategist, Mr Textor is co-founder of CrosbyTextor, a market research and communications company. He describes himself in his Web site as "the most astute judge of public sentiment in Australia today."
But apparently, he misjudged the impact of his tweets which caused the PM to keep his distance from Mr Textor. As his surname says, Mr Textor probably now communicates only with Mr Abbott via text messages.
