‘Pokemon Go’ Halloween treats: More Candies, spooky Pokemon sightings for a limited time
“Pokemon GO” is giving trainers Halloween treat for a limited time only. The popular Niantic Labs mobile app is unleashing more of the spooky Pokemon and giving away more Candies than usual for every Pokemon caught from Oct. 26 to Nov. 1.
In time for Halloween celebration, game developer Niantic has announced the week-long activity that will give players more reasons to go out and hunt for those elusive Pokemon.
From Oct. 26 to Nov. 1, Niantic will release more of the scary-looking ‘mons, namely Zubat, Golbat, Gastly, Haunter, Gengar, Drowsee and Hypno. Although Zubat and Golbat are already everywhere all the time, the rest are harder to catch. Hence, players are expected to increase their hunting efforts for at least during the Halloween duration.
There are more treats to be given away as well. Instead of getting three Candies for every Pokemon caught, players will receive twice as much. Every Pokemon transferred to the Professor will also award players two Candies instead of one. Pokemon Buddies will be finding Candies four times faster than they usually do. Lastly, trainers will get twice the Candy they would normally get when they hatch Eggs.
All those are only available for six days.
“Pokemon Go” was a total hit when it launched in July in the US, New Zealand and Australia before it expanded to some parts of Europe and Asia weeks later. It was the top downloaded app in both iOS and Android platforms at its peak, though its popularity has since dwindled down. Its Halloween treat is expected to regain players who left the game, though.
