When many thought the “Pokemon GO” craze has died down, Niantic has come out with yet another surprise and this time, it is in collaboration with Starbucks. As a result of this partnership, the mega coffee chain Starbucks, has come up with a “Pokemon GO Frapuccino.” There are more than 7,800 Starbucks stores in the US and all will be turned into PokeStops and PokeGyms.

Those who haven’t caught up with the “Pokemon GO” craze, PokeStops are certain locations in the game where players can collect items essential to keep playing. PokeGyms are places where the players use their Pokemon to battle other Trainers. Niantic CEO John Hanke explained why the company chose Starbucks as their partner.

Hanke said Starbucks’ footprint in the US provides Niantic an awesome opportunity to use technology that will encourage real world social interaction, exercise as well as exploration. As per CNBC, Niantic is trying to monetize “Pokemon GO” and that makes it necessary for the company to find corporate partners who can sponsor locations. This approach is Niantic’s main source of revenue generation.

Naturally, this kind of collaboration will also increase footfalls for Starbucks. Its new product, the “Pokemon GO Frapuccino” is a sinful blend of Vanilla Bean Frappuccino with freeze-dried blackberries and raspberry syrup. It’s topped with whipped cream. Starbucks hopes that this new item will be an instant among “Pokemon GO” players.

Niantic has been insanely busy rolling out regular updates for its game “Pokemon GO.” The company has also tied up with wireless operator Sprint in the U.S. Moreover, details about the “Pokemopn GO” Christmas event has been leaked ahead of the Gen 2 release where 100 new Pokemon will greet elated fans, writes Express.
