‘Pokemon Sun and Moon’ Legendary update: Free Shiny Tapu Koko, code availability & more; Global event live
“Pokemon Sun and Moon” players will get a free a Shiny Tapu Koko from Game Freak and it will be via serial codes. It will be the first time a Shiny Tapu Koko will be given and only seven to 11 stores in Japan will distribute the codes containing the Legendary Pokemon. The event Pokemon will have a peach and black appearance as the serial codes will contain the Shiny Tapu Koko. Usually it has an orange and yellow base colour. Players can redeem the code from March 17 to April 9. The code will have the Legendary along with a perfect IV and also an unknown item.
According to Serebii, the legendary Pokemon Shiny Tapu Koko is found at the altar in the Ruins of Conflict once “Pokemon Sun and Moon” players have completed the main story. The Pokemon can be caught only once in the game and players will encounter him at Level 60 at any time of day. As per “Pokemon Sun,” Tapu Koko can summon thunderclouds. It stores the lightning inside its body and the Legendary is also the guardian deity of Melemele Island. Tapu Koko is always curious.
“Pokemon Moon” describes Tapu Koko as a Pokemon that confuses its enemies by flying fast. Its Electric Surge boosts the power of Electric Pokemon, making it suitable for competitive battles. Despite having low patience and a raging anger, Tapu Koko forgets the reason for anger soon after being angry. According to Video Games Republic, other countries may also be able to redeem the special codes, available exclusively in Japan. “Pokemon Sun and Moon” players feel the codes will work regardless of the region.
Players may have to look for people who are willing to sell the codes, as Game Freak has not mentioned that the codes can be used only once by a player. However, there is every possibility that the codes will cost a bomb, primarily because chances of catching and owning a shiny Pokemon are high. Moreover, Tapu Koko is a Legendary in “Pokemon Sun and Moon” and is rare. Meanwhile, Nintendo Life has reported that the game’s next global mission has gone live. The event will end on March 13.
“Pokemon Sun and Moon” players have the goal of reaching 250,000 Battle Points. Once this milestone is achieved, PGL members will earn 4,000 FC while non-PGL members will earn 2,000 FC. Stay tuned on IBT AU for more updates.
