‘Pokemon Sun and Moon’ update: Global Mission event has an achievable goal, rewards and a twist

The second Global Mission event will be a much more reasonable one for “Pokemon Sun and Moon” players. Details on the event are surfacing online and players can expect a more realistic goal to achieve followed by more tempting rewards. Game Freak’s first Global Mission event was a total flop as players were asked to complete an incredible task of collecting 100 million Pokemon in just two weeks. Only 16.5 million creatures were caught.

According to Game Rant, the second “Pokemon Sun and Moon” Global Mission event will be more successful than the first, primarily because of a realistic goal, new players and more attractive rewards. However, if this second event is a failure somehow, then the developer will have to revisit their plans to keep players glued to the game. Drastic changes will become a necessity then.

Serebii.net has revealed the event details wherein “Pokemon Sun and Moon” has asked players to collectively defeat or catch one million Pokemon from Dec. 27, 8pm Pacific time, to Jan. 9, 2017. While the challenge seems easy and achievable unlike the first event, Game Freak has introduced a twist that will make achieving the objective a bit tricky. Players can use only the Island Scanner to catch Pokemon.

This may significantly limit the number of participating “Pokemon Sun and Moon” players as the Island Scanner is only available to those who have earned 100 points scanning QR codes. Still, the objective is well within reach due to the fact that Pokemon both caught and defeated will count towards the goal. It’s a good deal and players love it. The event has been devised keeping in mind the fact that players should feel drawn towards the event.

This is why the “Pokemon Sun and Moon” Global Mission Event will reward players handsomely. A player can earn 4,034 Festive Coins if they are successful and has his/her account attached to the global link. If not attached, a player can gain 2,017 Festive Coins. Players who fail to reach the goal will still be rewarded a few hundred Festive Coins.
