Authorities investigating the murder of Hayden Miles on Tuesday recovered human remains from a crime scene at Ruru Lawn Cemetery in Christchurch, where they have spent the past few days in search for the teen's body.

An official forensic report has yet to be released, and authorities would not confirm until then whether the remains belonged to Miles.

Three persons have been charged in court over the death of Miles.

A 27-year-old man has appeared in court to face murder charges over the death of Miles, who has been missing since August 22. The court has allowed name suppression for the man who was remanded in custody without plea until December 22.

An 18-year-old woman accused of being an accessory to the murder was granted bail. The woman, who was also granted interim name suppression, is charged with actively suppressing evidence, and enabling the main suspect to evade arrest.

Timothy Kuka, 35 from Parklands, has been charged with stealing a cask of wine from Hayden on the day of his death.

APNZ reported Hayden last spoke to his mother Jacqui from an unknown person's cellphone in the Linwood area before going to a friend's house on Cashel St on August 22.
