Portia De Rossi And Ellen DeGeneres Address 'Epic Fight' Story
Portia and Ellen DeGeneres did not have an "epic fight" that caused them to miss a charity event that they were supposedly supporting. Their camp said this is an absolute lie, contrary to earlier stories.
Page Six had learned earlier that the famous lesbian couple had a big fight en route to a Sunday event that they opted not to continue on to the event. They were on their way to the Saving SPOT! fundraiser at Tiato in Santa Monica but before they even got there, they got into an argument that caused them to turned around instead. The story seemed credible since it seems that they were listed and pictured on the invitation as hosts.
However, Ellen and Portia are now clarifying that they should have never been in the invitation in the first place because they already have informed the charity that they would not be able to make it.
Saving SPOT! Is a nonprofit organization designed to rescue dogs and then find them owners who would take care of their needs. Ellen and Portia attended last year's benefit event in Beverly Hills.
Ellen never reject the fact that she's an animal welfare supporter. This is why she and Portia released a statement in Page Six clarifying the incident. "We were happy to lend our names as honorary chairs and the organization was always aware that we would be unable to attend. This is the first time we have seen our images attached to the invite. It was not approved and it is misleading," the statement reads.
DeGeneres' attorney Marty Singer added, "The story is a complete lie. My client told the organizer they never agreed nor planned to attend the event. There was no fight that caused them not to attend."
Ellen DeGeneres has been fighting off divorce rumors all year long this year. Just this September, she announced that she went to a trip with Portia and had a fun time during the summer. She called Portia her "beautiful wife" to whom she's happily married too. She even sarcastically said thank you to the "concern" of the "tabloids."
As of now, Saving SPOT! still has to comment.
