Portland Trail Blazers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Preview and Betting Odds
After two straight convincing road wins over West rivals, the Portland Trail Blazer fell back to earth with a blowout loss to the Houston Rockets Monday. They’ll try to get back to the win column but have a tough one Wednesday when they face the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road.
The Blazers are 1st, 2nd and 3rd in scoring (109.6 PPG), rebounds (46.5 RPG) and assists (24.5 APG) respectively in the league so it’s no wonder that they have one of the best win-loss records in the league at 31-10.
The Oklahoma City Thunder, which are also among the top in the points (105.3 PPG-5th) and rebounds (46.8 RPG-1st), share the same win-loss card and are tied with Portland for third place in the Western Conference standings.
Portland won in San Antonio, 109-100 and Dallas, 127-111 to start their four-game Western road trip. They lost in Houston, 126-113 as they allowed the Rockets to shoot 52.3 per cent overall from the field (45-of-86 FG) and 48.5 per cent from behind the arc (16-of-33 3FG). The Rockets built a big 15-point lead at the half and never looked back.
Meanwhile, the Thunder are riding a three-game winning entering this marquee match-up. Star forward Kevin Durant had 36 points in a 104-92 win at Houston; then followed it up with a career-high 54 markers in a 127-121 home win versus Golden State.
KD scored another 30 in their last outing—a 108-93 home win over Sacramento—and OKC also had major contributions from Serge Ibaka (20 points and 6 rebounds); Reggie Jackson (16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists); and bench players Nick Collison (10 points and 7 rebounds) and Jeremy Lamb (10 points).
Portland has already won two games versus OKC this season covering the spread both times.
