Gay marriage can help the community says the Australian Marriage Equality. The local government of Tasmania urged people to count the gains of a gay wedding industry. Its state House of Assembly is the first Australian chamber that supports same sex marriage.

The benefits of same sex marriage were pointed out by the representatives. Specifically, the main target is the financial aspect. Representatives have shown evidences of financial benefits associated with same sex marriage. ''Small business will benefit from the wedding spend of same-sex couples … and Tasmania will benefit from an increase in immigration of the highly skilled creative class,'' says Alex Greenwich, the group’s national convener.

They discussed the gradual progress of some states in the United States when they legalized same sex marriage. From then on, thousands of same sex couples flocked to these states to exchange their vows.

The bill was passed to a Greens motion supporting marriage equality. It also called on the Federal Parliament to amend the Marriage Act. However, the bill would still be needed to pass through the traditional and conservative upper house.

A Peek To A Gay’s Life

Being gay can sometimes limit people’s boundaries because of hate and discrimination. If people know how it is to be a homosexual, they would surely understand.

Colby needs to go through hell every day when he’s at school. He is 16 years old and he is gay. He confessed that being gay is hard especially if you live in a country where people do not accept you for who you are. Just like thousands of other gays out there, Colby experience different social, emotional, and physical problems.

Statistics will prove that in spite freedom and recogntion given to gays world-wide, the percentage of gays being discriminated continues to rise every year. In 1982 the rate is 32% of the total gay population and rose to 55% in 2006. It also shows that gays aging 16 to 24 like Colby are the most discriminated.

Resolve Homophobia: Acceptance

Gays experience emotional problems like depression and emotional instability. Some can’t even accept that they are gay. The biggest problem of any gay is the way people think about him and how they discriminate homosexual people.

When some states in the U.S. approved same-sex marriage in their jurisdictions, they felt that for the first time, they were welcomed in a community where they are commonly rejected and discriminated.

Perhaps, when the bill is approved, Tasmania can show their support to the gay community.
