#PrayForHayes: Hayes Grier fractures ribs, suffers bruised lung due to car accident

Social media star Hayes Grier was taken to the hospital after meeting a car crash early Friday . Fans awaiting news on his condition took to social media their concern, prompting #PrayForHayes to trend on Twitter.

Hayes’ brother Nash announced on social media the news upon learning about the accident and urged fans to #PrayForHayes.

"#PrayForHayes Just got a call on set that said Hayes was in a crash. He's now in the hospital,” Nash posted on Twitter.

An hour later, Nash shared information about Hayes’ condition. Fortunately, Hayes does not have internal bleeding due to the car crash, according to their stepfather Johnnie Floyd.

“Your brother is pretty busted up right now. Luckily, no major stuff. All scans came back negative for any internal bleeding. He does have a concussion, fractured top two ribs and bruised lung on one side. He is in a lot of pain,” Floyd said in a text message to Nash.

On Twitter, Hayes told his followers that he has “gone fishing” Tuesday. By Wednesday, he has gone “back to the farm.” His last tweet was a response to a fan for checking up on him.

At 16 years old, Hayes rose to popularity through video-sharing site Vine, where he has 4.4 million followers. On Twitter, the Internet star has 3.53 million followers. Hayes’ social media following propelled his entry to show business. He joined the hit reality show “Dancing with the Stars” in 2015. Hayes, together with Nash, has been nominated to the Teen Choice Award for Choice Web Star: Male this year.
