'The Predator': First look at alien dogs

The giant alien isn’t the only thing to look forward to in “The Predator.” Funko toys has revealed the first look of an alien dog that is just as ferocious as its master.

A new picture posted on the Facebook page of Funko reveals the Pop toys of the upcoming film. Apart from the masked and unmasked toys of the alien that the fans are familiar with, there are three other toys at the bottom of a new alien creature.

The alien hunter will not be alone this time around. After losing to humans for so many years, the Predator will come with an alien dog. The dog will come in two colour variants- green and red. The Funko also has an option of a dog toy that is the infrared version.

The idea of a Predator dog isn’t a new one. The fans have already seen the dogs in the 2010 film “Predators” and in the game with the same name as the movie. The upcoming film will introduce a new version of the alien creature, and perhaps show it more as a companion rather than just an attack beast.

It will also be interesting to see if the genetically enhanced, and bigger Predator will also have a dog. It is possible that the green dog will the pet of the regular sized alien and the red one may be a little bigger and belong to the massive alien that was teased in the trailer.

According to the plot of the film, the aliens are stronger, smarter and deadlier, thanks to the genetic modification with DNA from other species. When a boy accidentally triggers the Predators’ return to Earth, only a ragtag group stand against the invaders.

“The Predator” has been directed by Shane Black. The film is set to be released on Sept. 13 in Australia.
