LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--World Poker Tour® is proud to announce that WPT® Anchor Lynn Gilmartin is the most recent inductee into the Australian Poker Hall of Fame. Joe Hachem, President of the Australian Poker Hall of Fame and WPT Champion, personally presented Gilmartin with her new honor as she joined such notable past honorees as Champions Club Member Mel Judah, Tony Guoga, and Jeff Lisandro, among others.

Born in Dublin, Ireland, Gilmartin moved with her family to Melbourne, Australia in 1986. Since 2009, she has traveled throughout more than 30 countries, producing content for a range of online and televised productions. She first appeared on Australian and UK television screens as the host of Australia's coverage of WSOP Asia Pacific in 2013.

Gilmartin moved to Los Angeles later that year to assume the role of Anchor of the World Poker Tour alongside commentators Mike Sexton and Vincent Van Patten. At the same time, she also became Anchor and Producer of the World Poker Tour's high roller series WPT Alpha8 with commentators Oliver 'Ali' Nejad and Olivier Busquet.

In 2015, Gilmartin proved that her poker prowess extends to the felt when she won the largest-ever Women's Event in European Poker Tour history.

Most recently, Gilmartin helped rally the poker and non-poker playing community to raise more than AU$90,000 so far through Poker Players for Australian Wildlife, an initiative to help some of the more than one-billion animals that have been impacted by the devastating Australian wildfires currently plaguing her home country. These fundraising efforts continue with a goal of reaching AU$100,000 in donations.

“The timing of this award is extra special after being so moved by the support my country received this month from the global poker community,” said Gilmartin. “The game of poker is impressively unique, and we have the rare gift of being surrounded by so many people with the dream-chasing courage and spirit which tournament poker brings. This award is a wonderful honor. I’m so very thankful.”

“The entire World Poker Tour family is so proud of Lynn for this well-deserved recognition,” said Adam Pliska, CEO of the World Poker Tour. “Lynn is beloved by the entire poker community not only for her many contributions to the sport of poker, but also for her unwavering devotion to her country and her ongoing commitment to worthy causes such as Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors, a non-profit founded by Terri Irwin and her late husband Steve Irwin. Lynn is one of the kindest and most generous people I know, and her passion and drive are remarkable.”
