Tech Firm Increases Global Reach with New Australian Data Centre Offer
Questionmark enables Australian customers to store assessment data securely
TRUMBULL, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--#AU--Questionmark, the online assessment provider, has bolstered its global capacity with a new Australian data centre offer. The centre makes it possible for customers to keep critical assessment data within Australia to comply with data protection regulations.
Measuring the existing skills of the workforce through online assessments gives employers the information they need to make better decisions about training, recruitment, compliance and career development. Online tests and exams help education institutions and credentialing organisations measure the progress of learners.
Lars Pedersen, CEO of Questionmark, said: “Cloud-based assessments are the most efficient way for organisations to get crucial data from online tests. Employers can use that information to make better decisions. But they must make sure that data is stored safely and lawfully.
“Our new data centre will give Australian organisations peace of mind that all data stored from assessments with Questionmark will be held securely and legally.”
The increase in demand behind the launch of the new data centre is part of a global increase in online assessments. Use of Questionmark’s enterprise-grade assessment platform, which is at the heart of much training, certification, and development, rose by almost a third (31%) in 2020. Proctoring services, which guard against cheating, soared by 115%.
Because of data sovereignty rules contained in the Australian Privacy Principles (APP), it is easier for Australian organizations to store their data within the country. Doing so can reduce bureaucracy and increase compliance. It ensures that the data will not be subject to laws from another territory.
The Questionmark platform is a one-stop shop that enables each aspect of delivering an assessment – including content authoring, proctoring or invigilation, and e-commerce – to be managed through one platform.
The new data centre will make it easier for Australian organizations to manage their data compliance. They will be able to operate cloud-based assessments, safe in the knowledge that the data is being stored safely and legally.
