According to Wetpaint, the reference of the title of the episode is to murder. The website stated that the phrase is used in "Macbeth" by Shakespeare. It is spoken by Lady Macbeth after she has murdered Duncan. Despite repeated washing the killer is unable to wash off the metaphorical blood. So, who is the title referring to here? Wetpaint questioned that is it related to Aria's guilt. She killed Shana in self defence. Meanwhile, Janel Parrish (Mona Vanderwaal) tweeted about a table read for "Pretty Little Liars." She was back on the set for a flashback scene. This was the second time she was on the set. Earlier, she filmed a flashback scene with Ashley Benson.
