Prince Harry Caps Visit to Australia with Marriage Humours to Cressida Bonas [Photos and Videos]
Prince Harry capped his 36-hour royal visit to Australia with a visit to the Special Air Service regiment (SASR) at its home base at Campbell Barracks in Perth in honour to the fallen members at the Garden of Reflection.
He was escorted by the Prime Minister Tony Abbott, the Commanding Officer of the SASR and the Regimental Sergeant Major of SASR.
"It has been 10 years since Prince Harry last visited Australia and we are humbled and grateful that he has made the time to join us. Prince Harry knows what it means to serve his nation on operations and most importantly what it means to the families of those serving. Today's visit by His Royal Highness and the Prime Minister represents a unique opportunity to recognise the broader SAS Regimental family that provides the back up and support at home. Families play a critical role for those serving in the SASR and indeed the whole of the ADF, and we are thankful that the families of some of our serving, former and fallen members were able to be here today, Lieutenant Colonel G. (identity withdrawn) stated.
Before leaving, Prince Harry spent some minutes with the press expressing how Australia was a second home for him and that he was really sad for leaving.
"I just can't get the time off work these days," he said. "The next time I come back you will be struggling to get rid of me I am sure. It's lovely here. Very short, though."
A woman from the crowd asked him about plans of getting married to which Prince Harry laughed off - neither denying nor confirming.
This aroused rumours of coming marriage proposal to girlfriend Cressida Bonas, who had been reported working in an Aussie bar in the past.
Back in U.K., friends of the couple said that the two are going to marry soon.
"Harry never stops talking about marriage and children and she has not got used to the idea. The wedding is likely to take place next year," said one friend of the couple.
As for being the sweetest uncle to baby George, he assured a well-wisher that the royal baby will receive her gifts.
