"The Artist Formerly Known as Prince", or simply Prince, gave British crowds a blast from the past with his stellar performance at the Hop Farm Festival in Southern England last weekend.

The award-winning music legend stunned the Hop Farm crowd during his surprise performance on the third day of the festival. After seeing acts such as Pete Doherty, Supergrass, and Brandon Flowers from the band The Killers, the hippie-dominated crowed enjoyed a powerful set from singer just before Sunday sunset. The singer performed his hits Kiss, Cream, and Purple Rain, with an energetic vocal accompaniment from the ecstatic audience. Last Sunday's Hop Farm appearance was the first British performance of the artist since 2007's successful 21-date Euro tour.

Prince has always been a musical genius since he started his career in 1978. Known with his all-around skill of playing the guitar, the drums, the bass, and a couple of horn instruments aside from owning a stunning voice, Prince made waves when he recorded the album Dirty Mind in 1980. It was said that the record was done in its entirety in Prince's own studio, with all the instruments and tracks mastered by the artist himself. Since then, Prince won seven Grammy Awards for his work in Dirty Mind and the album Purple Rain which included his most celebrated hits.
