Prince William has made his first public appearance since the birth of his son just less than two weeks ago. Speaking after a polo match in Berkshire, the Duke of Cambridge joked that he was expecting to be given nappies when presented with a mini polo mallet for Prince George.

Admitting he was not focused on the polo match, but instead was in "baby zone," Prince William accepted a mini mallet for his almost-two week old son

The first-time father was given the gift after scoring the winning goal at a charity polo match in Berks. The appearance was the first for the Duke of Cambridge since he and Kate Middleton welcomed George on July 22.

The Duke of Cambridge took a brief break from parental duties following the birth of his son, Prince George, as he played in a charity polo match. Prince William was presented with a child's polo mallet after the match and joked: ''Is it nappies?''

Prince William talked diaper duty and the daddy chores on Saturday after scoring the winning goal in his charity polo match. After accepting a mini polo mallet for Prince George, the Duke of Cambridge revealed he was distracted during the game - thinking of his newborn son. "I was in baby mode out there, thinking about nappies. I wasn't really in the zone," the first time father revealed.

In the same breath, Prince William admitted it was nice to get out of the house for a little while. He couldn't stay long after the match, however, as he said he needed to pick up diapers on his way back home.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been staying at the Middleton home in Berkshire during the first two weeks of Prince George's life. It's expected Kate will remain there after Prince William returns to duty at RAF Anglesey this week. But right now, the new parents aren't thinking about work too much because they're too busy with Prince George. "He likes to move around a lot. He wriggles a lot. He keeps on our toes," Prince William is quoted as saying.

Will Baby George be along for the ride? A royal source says they're not ruling it out but that, like most new moms, Kate won't be bringing her baby in to the office every day.
