Prince William eyeing Australian Honeymoon with Kate Middleton
The Royal couple is considering taking their Honeymoon in Australia following their wedding at Westminster Abbey on April 29
Prince William has promised to return to Australia after his wedding at Westminster Abbey on April 29 noting that he is strongly considering spending his honeymoon at Down Under with future-bride, Kate Middleton.
The Prince made the spontaneous plans while attending a function at Cairns from Townsville Saturday evening to thank 600 volunteers who played a big part in the rescue and recovery operations following the devastating Cyclone Yasi in Australia in February.
“I will have to come back. Maybe we’ll have a honeymoon in Cairns?,” the Prince was quoted as saying by The Daily Telegraph.
The Prince noted that the weather in Australia is more inviting compared to Abbey.
“It’s much nicer down here; the weather at home is dreadful,” the Prince had openly said about the weather back at Westminster Abbey in London, said UsMagazine.
Kate’s future husband also told reporters attending the event that he has had always wanted to enjoy the waters in Australia and he is hoping to do some diving during his stay should he decide to go for Down Under honeymoon.
“I love scuba diving. I have always wanted to dive [the Great] Barrier Reef,” the Prince said making plans of his honeymoon after the much-anticipated wedding.
After meeting the locals and volunteers for operations after Cyclone Yasi, the Prince is headed to Queensland to visit the towns affected by flashfloods that had killed more than 20 people in January. Prince William is scheduled to visit the flood-ravaged areas in Victoria before returning to his home at Westminster Abbey.

The Prince had earlier expressed his wishes to make a more ‘informal’ form of visit to Australia when he accepted the invitations from Prime Minister John Key of New Zealand and Prime Minister Julia Gillard of Australia. Both countries are former British colonies and members of the Commonwealth. New Zealand and Australia have also had Queen Elizabeth as their official Head of State.
