Prince William jokes that Kate Middleton can't cook; credits the Duchess' lack of kitchen skills for his slim figure
The Duchess of Cambridge revealed that William has to put up with her cooking most of the time
Prince William recently turned 34 years old. Through the years, the future King of England has been a symbol of good health and vitality. Aside from engaging in various sports, the Duke of Cambridge recently joked about one secret on how he manages to stay lean, and it involves his wife being in the kitchen.
Prince William was at a gala dinner at Houghton Hall to support East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices on June 22, 2016. Houghton Hall is the home of the Marquess and Marchioness of Cholmondeley, while the Children’s Hospices is patronized by Princess Kate Middleton. During the event, the royal couple shared some details about their life at Anmar Hall, their house nearby.
Vogue writes how the Duchess of Cambridge revealed that William has to put up with her cooking most of the time. In response, William joked that it was the reason why he stays very skinny.
According to PEOPLE, the royal couple left their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, at Anmer Hall, to attend the dinner, four miles away. There were five Michelin-star chefs that took care of the fine dining. The menu included squid ink cracker with Morston smoked salmon by chef Galton Blackiston of Morston Hall on the Norfolk coast, wild sea bass by Claude Bosi of Hibiscus in London, scallop ceviche by chef Sat Bains of Restaurant Sat Bains in Notthingham, loin of Houghton venison with summer beetroot puree by Tom Kerridge of The Hand and Flowers in Harlow, and Norfolk raspberries, cider and blueberry coulis by Mark Edwards of Nobu.
Kate wore a beautiful Jenny Packham gown, which she initially wore at a fundraising gala in 2011, just after her wedding. Aside from the sumptuous feast, which most likely gave Prince William a break from his wife’s meals, the evening was filled with entertainment and fun exchanges among the guests, which numbered around 80. The funds raised by the event will be used to build a new hospice. According to the organizers, they are aiming to raise about $700,000, although the entire project costs $14 million.
More updates and details on the British royal family are expected soon.
