Prince William, Kate Middleton confirms engagement
Prince William and Kate Middleton has confirmed that they are indeed engaged as earlier rumoured. The couple announced their engagement today.
According to recent reports, the royal wedding of Prince William andMiddleton is slated in 2011.It was previously rumoured that the Prince William and Middleton will wed in 2012, coinciding with Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubillee and the Olympic Games,which the United Kingdom is set to host in the same year.
Reports of a wedding ibegan circulating when Prince William turned 28, the age the prince said he would be marrying, last June.
"I'd been planning it for a while but as every guy out there will know it takes a certain amount of motivation to get yourself goin," Prince William told UK Press Association in a briefing.
"So I was planning it and then it just felt really right out in Africa. It was beautiful at the time. I just ... I had done a little bit of planning to show my romantic side."
Prince William proposed to Middleton while the two were in Kenya on a holiday.
There is still no further details on their engagement or wedding but newspapers in the UK say that Prince William and Katie Middleton are likely to wed on June 4 or June 3, as the royal diary has been cleared on that day. Announcements of royal engagements are usually done in the spring with a view to a summer wedding.
