It has been announced that the Royal Couple will officially mentor the athletes competing for this year's Olympic Games in London.
According to reports, Prince William and Kate Middleton are now official ambassadors of the British Olympic Association (BOA). It is also said that Prince Harry will join the pair in mentoring the athletes.
In the same report, it seems that the royal trio wants to be "hands-on" when it comes to giving the representatives the right kind of training and attention they need to be able to perform at their best in the biggest sporting event in the world.
According to Lord Colin Moynihan, BOA's chairman, which the royal personalities are willing to "pass on" the chance to be in the public spotlight and place their full attention into honing and mentoring the athletes.
"They are looking to make that marginal difference which will assist all those athletes, parents and coaches and taking them one step closer to podium success." said Moynihan in a report posted by The Mirror.
It is said that the Royal couple and Prince Harry will work with the 'Ambition Programme,' a pool of athletes and coaches that will participate in this year's London Olympics.
"They are young and enthusiastic, they communicate exceptionally well and I think they will build strong and enduring relations with our athletes." added Moynihan in the same report.
BOA's official site also claims that there is a huge possibility that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will take part in the opening ceremony of the Olympics.
