Prince William, who is now taking the Malta trip instead of his wife Kate Middleton, recently spoke about the latter's health condition. Middleton who is currently pregnant with her second child is being treated for a rare form of morning sickness called hyperemesis gravidarum.

Middleton is doing "so-so" and is "being looked after very well." He also said that she was disappointed that she could not make it to Malta.

Prince William also said that he talked to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, about her time in Malta. "I was asking my grandmother all about her time in Malta just a week ago. It was very interesting to me to hear about that history," Prince William was quoted as saying by Mirror.

The president of Malta, Coleiro Preca, also said that she had gone to Britain to meet Maltese patients being treated in the U.K. She is reportedly happy by the way they are being taken cared off.

"All our patients have such a lot of praise for the treatment and the way they are cared for. We are going to explore ways of collaborating together on research with regards to children with cancer," Ms. Presca said.

Prince William is in Malta to take part in country's 50th anniversary celebrations. Malta was a colony of the British; however, the country has always shared great relation with British and its royal family.

In the salad days of their marriage, Queen Elizabeth lived with Prince Philip in Malta and the place is said to be quite close to her heart. This time, she apparently wanted Kate Middleton to represent her. However, Middleton had to cancel her trip at the last moment, as she was not keeping well.

Ms. Preca extended her invitation to the whole royal family, along with Prince George and the new baby who is on the way.The president also gifted an eight-pointed gold Maltese cross from Maltese string jewellery to Prince George.
