Prince William talks younger brother Prince Harry, kids and their dad’s ‘drivels’ in new documentary
Prince William opened up about how his younger brother Prince Harry loves to surprise him and his wife Kate Middleton in their house at Kensington Palace. The British royal said Harry “scourges food off us.” William was sharing his views in an ITV documentary about his father’s Prince’s Trust charity.
He spoke to presenters Ant and Dec -- Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly -- alongside his brother Harry. “I'm a lot more emotional than I used to be, weirdly. The 33-year-old British royal said that fatherhood has made him more emotional, BBC reports. He described his son Prince George and daughter Princess Charlotte as “good as gold, honestly,” Express UK reports.
William added how his parents took them to charities and taught them how the less privileged lived. He and Harry gave a candid interview in a 90-minute documentary “ The Prince: 40 Years of the Prince’s Trust.” Harry said he enjoyed living next door to William and Kate at Kensington Palace.
“I can always hear the wheels of those plastic tractors that George loves playing on,” he said. The 31-year-old royal said that it was great to be able to live next to each other in London where they were brought up by their parents Prince Charles and their late mother princess Diana.
Talking about their father, the brothers joked that he talked too much and wrote too many letters, some of which are full of “drivel”. Charles’ handwriting was so bad that his letters were dubbed as “Black Spider Memos” by his ministers, the duo recounted. William meanwhile said that when their dad falls asleep, while writing, he writes “these long sort of As that disappear off the page.”
He reminisced how he and Harry used to exchange their letters from their dad while studying at Eton.
Meanwhile, Charles told in the interview that he loved having his granddaughter, Charlotte, The Telegraph UK reports. Ant and Dec, both long-term ambassadors for The Prince’s Trust, were given unprecedented access to Clarence House, St James’s Palace and Kensington Palace for the 90-minute documentary. Clarence House took to Twitter on Sunday and shared a video clip of the film.
